The kids found a cicada on our back deck and had to go all Wild Kratts on it.
I would not get any closer to photograph it. These bugs are what nightmares are made of. "Touch him Rosie. He won't hurt you. He's such a cute little guy."
As you can see, Blaise does not always have saintly behavior! Blaise's name, however, comes from a saint whose feast day we observe every February. St. Blaise is known for blessing throats, as he once saved a young boy choking on a fish bone. He also is the patron saint of wild animals. Perhaps he can intercede on behalf of our cat? We expect that our Blaise will have lots of spunk, just like the saint he's named after!
