After a quiet morning at home, we went to Oktoberfest at St. Mike's. Blaise met baby Maggie, who was born the day after him. After he chowed down and threw back a few brews, Blaise fell asleep at the table. ZZZZZZ
Blaise and I wait for Tommy to get off the train after work. Blaise has started giving Tommy a happy squeal when he firsts spots him. The two "Thomases" have bonded.
Blaise really took to tailgating. (Like father, like son!) He "hung out" with Uncle Danny and Aunt Stephanie for quite a while. Tommy couldn't have been happier to be back at ND- especially with a drink in hand and a football game to attend. Go Irish!
Blaise finally met his Aunt Becky, Uncle Pat, and cousin to come BumBum. He loved all three! He is looking forward to visiting them in London later this fall.
Blaise is quite at home in just a diaper. I caught him posing on his Boppy- perhaps he thought he was at the beach? He definitely has his father's stomach. (Tommy- that was just a joke! If anything that is an inherited Waite trait.)
Tommy has turned Blaise into quite the little Fighting Irish fan! Father and son have happily cheered on the Irish as they started their season. Blaise's favorite player is Golden Tate, since we call Blaise "Golden Sun" at home. (Tommy started that somehow.) Blaise evidently is also a fan of the Cubs, which I try not to encourage. Tommy swears Blaise is going to reverse the curse this year. We'll see...
We visited Stephanie in South Bend for her birthday. Steph and I ran in a race at SMC, then the family walked to ND. Blaise peeked into the stadium and saw the football team march by. We spent the rest of the weekend in Michigan with Mimi and G-Pops.
As you can see, Blaise does not always have saintly behavior! Blaise's name, however, comes from a saint whose feast day we observe every February. St. Blaise is known for blessing throats, as he once saved a young boy choking on a fish bone. He also is the patron saint of wild animals. Perhaps he can intercede on behalf of our cat? We expect that our Blaise will have lots of spunk, just like the saint he's named after!
